Ryan Gear has a diversified and interdisciplinary academic background. He completed his BA in
Environmental Science and Physical Geography from Nipissing University in his hometown of North
Bay, Ontario. In 2012 he completed the MBA program from RMIT University, Ho Chi Minh City and
obtained his Master of Counseling Psychology degree from Yorkville University in Canada.
As an MBA graduate, he has worked with a wide array of individuals and groups. From advising university students dealing with academic stress to business professionals learning to work with
diverse customers, he has been able to use his knowledge and cultural awareness to help people
discover and develop the skills necessary to cope in demanding and fast-paced work, study, and
family environments.
As a counselor, he believes in a client-centered approach and hopes to assist others in their search
to find balance between work, play, relationships, and personal goals. He uses a nonjudgmental
approach to foster a healthy and supportive therapeutic relationship.
In his free time, he is likely to be found with his family or studying music theory and playing his
electric guitar very loudly!
